Doesn't state what the regulation entails. Could you furnish us with the info please?
Only one I've heard about recently was the change to generate a uniform nicotine delivery with each 'puff'. Which I find crazy given that isn't what happens with cigarettes (draw harder and longer, get more nicotine), so why impose it on e-cigarettes?
Some of the regulations are sensible like limiting nicotine amounts which most people would agree to anyway.
The main issues that the tpd look to impose involve limiting devices to hold only limited amount of liquid and being secure. Sounds reasonable yet there as never an issue with thst in the first place. Those aren't an issue though
The next one which is a kicker is thst every single product has to be provided to a regulatory board at cost before it can be sold. The American version is pricing it at 1 million dollars per product. So you can see the driving force behind doing that. Companies do it already at a much smaller cost than thst before sold so it's purposely driven to basically drive companies out of business.
It allows them to control tax in the future making them essentially too expensive compared to smoking, which is clearly driven by tobacco and pharmaceutical companies losing money. Imagine a safer way to smoke but it will cost more than regular smoking all of a sudden?
The tpd also looks to ban advertising and free speech about it as well. So essentially it would be illegal to speak about it, can't do YouTube videos, no forums, no Facebook. It would be illegal for people to have meets, like the conventions or even at your own house. Imagine being arrested or fined for having a group of people smoking at your house? Same thing.
So pretty much the tpd will in long term drive the industry out of business, stop people talking about a alternative to smoking and anyone looking to talk about it even will fall victim to being taken down. Remember Facebook allows some horrible content through free speech but wouldn't allow any mention of vaping?
So the tpd would essentially remove any free speech on the subject, make sales or business almost impossible in the future and even price the products out of affordability when right now, one of the biggest access points to giving up is availability and cost
As i mentioned originally, this support for getting rid of other tpd is driven for anyone who wants to stop smoking, it wouldn't affect any hipster as much but the fight is for the people who want to stop smoking but can't because of regulations like this.
Not even our country wants to enforce it, it's European Union driven instead. Hence why the government are debating and the small window to not enforce it being there.
