Dixie played with a leather football, when that thing got wet he was kicking & heading a brick
Dixie played in boots akin to those worn by miners in the pit
Dixie played on uneven pitches often resulting in puddles when it rained
Dixie didn't have access to state of the art facilities & modern medical practices
