For me anyone who can get in the Brazil national team is a 'proven' player. To play 20 times and score 8 goals again backs this up for me. I'm not bothered if they play in Russia or Botswana, if they are of international class then get them in!

Its funny how everyone complains when were linked with premier league players like Fletcher etc, or how the Bent rumours seem to have split opinion... yet when were linked with a relative unknown to us south american we don't get excited either lol!

I dont think anyone has seem enough of him to really judge, or know that were actually even after him, but its these types of rumours that get me the most excited. Imagine if we signed Manny, Mountinho and Love? Thats not the type of player I would have even imagined us linked with a few years back. God I remember being chuffed to bits when we were linked with, then signed Beattie. God how times have changed.

as for not getting excited over unknown players, well yes, thats true, but 20 million is alot of money, and as we have seen from players in the premiership, specifically Shevchenko, some players do not adapt to the premiership, so to spend 20 million is a big risk.

20 mill is a crap load of money for a single player. It would almost double our record transfer fee paid for the YAK. Maybe KenTIGHT has found some "Russian" with really deep pockets seeing the type of players Moyes is seemingly going after...

Personally i think we have quite a high transfer budget, id think around £25 million, then add the johnson money on top of that = £35 million. Thats what i think anyway...

That would not get us near to buying 5-6 quality players as DM has been quoted. Something is really fishy...Have they loaned all the TV revenue from Sky for the entire season? How much money could that be? Seeing that DM is still holding out on signing his contract, do you guys think that we might see the biggest transfer movement this season?
 
If our last day transfer window bargain buying freanzy fail for some reason or the other this year then we are in some deep deep trouble...
 
Its going to be a transfer frenzy I can smell it. Notice how ginger the players are talking abot new faces. Its because theyve all be put on notice that we are going to make some Hollywood action signings, Arshavin, Moutinho, Love and a couple of other cats; a 75 million pound spending spree that will blow us out of the water and set us up for the treble in '09.

Darren Bent is a far more realistic target to go for, especially if the asking price is half of 'waggle yer love'....
