….impressed and surprised with Ukraine against Scotland. They play with a determination but also with control.

i think they have more quality than Wales but it’ll be very difficult to come through two international away games in a week. if they do it will be some achievement & the World Cup will be better for their involvement.

I thought much the same. I buck the trend in being quite a big fan of international football, and have never seen Ukraine play as well as that, ever. They are generally quite an average side but have been improving slowly over the years. I fully expected them to fold after Scotland scored but they held their ground, to their credit.

I'm inclined to think Wales may have a little too much for them on Sunday and it's asking a huge amount to win back-to-back away games in these circumstances. But they have a shout and will go into the game full of confidence. I'm looking forward to it. If Ukraine can get there, they will have earned their place perhaps like no other side has.

The atmosphere will be like Goodison in those last few games, it's very difficult for any away side in those circumstances. Although as per Brentford one ref's decision can change that.

Personally I think Ukraine are certs to win and get to the World Cup. There is a political appetite for this to happen. Hugely so. Check out the recent Euro singing contest farce. But this is a much bigger affair a bigger stage for propoganda of some sort or other. As far as I am concerned you can bank on the yellow and blue flag to be flying from Arabic football stadiums come November.

Would surprise me greatly if Wales get through. Ukraine have been nibbled in to odds-on to do it whilst the Welsh are drifting. Even without the political overtone to anything Ukraine are involved in these days they are a better side than Wales in any case.

….looked immediately after the Scotland game & Ukraine were around 2-1 mark to beat Wales which I thought was tempting.

The Welsh turned 'achey, breaky heart' into a football chant. They should've been banned from international tournaments indefinitely for a crime of that magnitude.
Pales in comparison to the Spanish version. I've been hearing it at quinceaneras and weddings for decades and makes me laugh every time.

Seems harsh to say you want them beat when they''ve just lost a war, but this is football and we have to put that aside. Wales thoroughly deserve their place in the finals and I or one will be rooting for my Celtic cousins tomorrow.
