My good deed for the day is done
I was out with the dog earlier and as we passed one of the local ponds I noticed a young lad fishing alone and he appeared quite agitated.
When I got nearer I saw that he had somehow managed to snag a duckling. The poor lad was panicking as he didn't know what to do and was scared of the mother duck which was following the duckling around.
I managed to reassure him and I was able to bring the duckling to the side and remove the line which had somehow caught around the ducklings leg. No permanent damage done and it swam off happily with it's mother who quickly herded it back to the rest of the family.

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) - A Dubuque Hempstead staff member is now on leave after a video of him using a racial slur to a student spread on social media.
The assistant principal released a statement addressed to families within the school saying the staff member is now on leave while the district investigates.
Robert Kimble, founder of the Dubuque Dream Center, says watching the video of a Dubuque Hempstead High School staff member using a racial slur towards a student left him surprised, and said the incident, while tough, is an opportunity. “Our school district is a great school district. It’s just important that if there are still people out there who think this way, and act this way, that we hold them accountable,” said Kimble.
