I'm off to my mate's Dad's funeral tomorrow.
What an incredible guy he was.
He died a couple of weeks ago aged 99, he would have notched up his century next month.
We would take him for a pint up until recently and he was always up for an argument be it football or politics.
He lied about his age during the war so he could fight and he ended up being a rear gunner in a Sunderland flying boat.
I am looking forward to his eulogy as he led a full and interesting life.
His name was Alex and I am all the better for having known him.

@tommye or anyone else, I need to repaint some outside doors as it looks like a botched job was done previously. Think I need to scrape off the loose paint, sand, undercoat then gloss. May need some wood filler as well by the looks of things.
Am I missing anything? It’s mainly peeling at the bottom where the rain gets it.

This isn't looking great Jim. I am not a tradesman but if the rot is deep set it might not be worth just applying simple cosmetic work.
