I remember that game for 2 reasons

1. Branch was excellent
2. No one went to Kanchelskis when he scored (you can see it on the video Barrett gives him a high 5 when he's walking back) and I remember at the time thinking how odd no one went over when he went tk the street end corner flag.

Not sure if that was because a move away was already in the pipeline or the players just thought he was a proper greedy beaut but I hadn't seen it before and don't think I've seen that since

The first time I'd seen Paul Gascoigne live this one and he absolutely ran the game. He was up against Reid and Bracewell and had them in his pocket. Beardsley blazing a late penalty into the Street End was hilarious. We were poor and very lucky to get the three points that day.

Seeing that the official attendance at this one was only 41,000 goes a long way to explaining how our average over the whole season was supposedly only 33,000!
