"Watch Classic Matches Again"

I remember watching us for about 4 seasons on the spin lose (maybe drew one game) against Sheffield Wednesday away with a couple of heavy defeats thrown in and couldn't be arsed then going to the one where we ended up winning 5-2 with the Kanchelskis hattrick. Still winds me up that i decided to miss that one.
We were supposed to be at the west ham game, but the lad who was driving the Van got arrested the night before, thinking about it might have been a lucky thing really not sure how that would have gone.

What a crap game

Anyone confirm where the away fans were situated?
My very early years watching Everton, so away games were out of the question, but whenever I watch back the games of that era, it seems (to me anyway) to be a time when it was changing from opposition fans sharing the same terrace to being segregated into pens? In that game at Leicester it looks like all the Everton fans have been herded together in their own corner of the stadium, but at QPR it looks like they're all a bit more mixed together on the same terrace and I'm guessing that might have been the same at West Ham? I don't know how many travelled down there, but I'm sure it was more than 14 !

It was like that, QPR was mixed at that end, lots were, thinking back most at the time.
Leicester we were all behind one goal to the side and loads in the stand on the left , that's were I was sitting looking from are end as the Everton enclosure was full, we had fans in there end but they got taken out around the pitch and put in are bit.
Same for fans at Goodison mixed in the parkend, but mostly outnumbered by the home fans accept for maybe three or four times a season when the police wouldn't let us in there.
Man unt, Liverpool odd other game.

I was old enough to start going to away games in the mid 80's (not a bad time to go really!). I remember going to West Ham, QPR and Arsenal and although we were segregated it was great to be able to watch games without a fence between you and the pitch. Some of those away sections elsewhere though....like being in a prison yard. There's a lot of things I miss from that era, but how you were treated as a visiting supporter isn't one of them.

This was the season when I started going away (aged 14) with my mates. We went to Birmingham, Leeds and Boro and I remember there being segregation in the ground. Also, there were no police escorts which I think came in the following season.

Picked some games there mate :)
There were some pens at grounds, but the likes of Burnley, Coventry, ipswich ,wolves ect you just went in the end and there might be a bit of a barrier to separate you.
Those four we actually stood next to the home fans main supporters .
Your right mostly left to get back to the transport on your own .
Mad as they seemed to get you to the game escorted but not back, bit mad at times if you hadn't been before and didn't know which way to go
Just follow the crowd and hope for the best.
Leeds had pens but left them open when we were there the drew brand defeat, the Leeds just walked through them and mingled in till the 4 goal for them then got kicked out.

Derby v Us on the Big Match Revisited, started 10 minutes ago, we're the last game on. Looks a cracking match, with plenty of goals.
