"Watch Classic Matches Again"

Look at that Derby game, Holmes, Horne, Ebbrell, Preki, Ward....not the best by any stretch but we didn't half give them a game back then, proper blood and thunder games.

Even crap Everton sides used to be able to rally round and fight for the club
That's because most of them were British, so it was easy to whip up a team spirit and camaraderie, Preki was only a cameo performer from off the bench.

Fantastic compilation here of Granada tv football intros from 1970 to 1983. Plenty of Blues featured including a long range goal (from John Bailey?) v Luton in 1982.

I enjoyed watching that, I remember the intro music vividly from 1976-7 onwards when I first would have started watching it properly, apart from one piece, that brass band type one at 7m 20. I honestly have no recollection of that! Mind you, going off the dates it seems they only used it for a couple of months. As well as a few Everton goals, there's George Wood (I think) making a great save ( 4m 50) at Man City and then you've got Mickey Thomas, Alan Biley and is it Mick Ferguson having a bit of a workout by the look of it from 9 mins onwards!
