Watching in person in europe

I plan to be in Turin with my family this spring and wanted to watch a juve game as a family of 5.

Never bought tickets in a foreign country before.

Is there anything I need to know up front. Asking kindly for advice.

You`ll need your passport when buying your tickets and getting into the game as your details are on the match ticket you buy. The atmosphere in the Italian games is great and well worth experiencing. You`re only an hour and a half from Milan by train, so if you can`t catch a Juve game, Inter or AC Milan would be at home and its another stadium well worth a visit.

Also Como, Bergamo (Atalanta) and Verona are not out of the question.

I could be wrong but I think with Serie A tickets they only give the exact date of the match quite last minute, so when you go on the website to buy tickets it might just give the general weekend that the match is due to be played but no exact date

Travel firms (Sports Breaks etc) generally rely on a local agent where you are given instructions to “ go this place, meet this man, he will have your tickets, they are generally unused season tickets for that particular game. This has worked for me for Real Madrid and Lazio.
Earlier this year I just went into the Real Sociedad ticket site and bought five tickets in the same way as I would for Palace, Everton etc. Seat choice included.

Add to that they don`t do 3pm Saturday ko too much. Games can be Friday, Saturday, 11:30am Sunday, Sunday afternoon or lat evening, and they still might have one on Monday night too. So its hard to plan so far in advance, but being in the north of Italy you`ll have a couple of options of where you can catch a match.

To be honest I've never had trouble getting a ticket on the day for Italian matches unless it's a derby or vital game. Torino play at the studio olympico and if they are at home just go on the morning of the match (check when the ticket office is open) and you will be fine.
A bit further afield I've done a match in Genoa whilst staying in Turin. It's a beautiful city and Sampdoria or Genoa both share the ground. Pretty easy by train and the same goes for Milan/Verona as well.

Milan is a perfect spot to base yourself for a weekend of Italian football. Easy to get to via Bergamo or Linate and is only an hour and a half from Turin and Genoa, and about 2 from Verona. The only thing that could let you down is the state of the stadiums. They are all very much outdated, but all have good atmospheres that is well worth experiencing, if only to give you a brake from watching our lot.

Just go online.

Serie A is the underrated gem of the big leagues. Atmosphere electric, prices cheap, stadiums filled with character.

Only one I've had issues with was Bologna and I got a ticket off Viagogo no bother.

Most I've paid in Italy for a ticket was €20

Agreed, I don't like Milan as a city but very handy.

Good advice so far regarding the day/time, they can leave it late till you get a definite ko time so do a bit of research for what time their kick off times are, whether the match you're hoping to go to is likely to be moved for tv etc. TripAdvisor forums are quite good for this info, go on the Turin forum and post a question and you'll get lots of help.

I went to a game at Stadio Olympico and can't remember it being particularly hard to get tickets online as a foreigner before we travelled. Can't remember if they were print at home or posted to us. We didn't need to take ID to the game.

Its a very good idea to get your tickets before match day. I`ve queued for tickets on match day for Verona, Torino and Milan and eve though the queue can be short it can take forever to get sorted.
