...and that is why I'm constantly asking myself if you ever watch a match.

Face it mate, Manny's class.

I know it.

Evertonians know it.

And frankly you know it but you're bent on having a go at him.

"Tried twice and failed." ???

I'm having a laugh.

Go to every home and as many aways as i can bill, what about yourself?

Watching on TV.

Your point being?

Oh, wait. You didn't have one.

Oh so you only see what the tv companies want you to see billy? Good 'O. Bit different to seeing it in the flesh. The question i need to ask back is have you ever been to a game yourself

I disagree, sometimes you get a better view on the tv. What a very blinked view, just cos he lives in America doesnt mean hes any less of an Evertonian than you or me.

His point is right and yours is wrong, if Manny wasnt a good player Valencia wouldnt have paid 12m for him and we wouldnt have been about too. He struggled for form and fitness when he came the 2nd time and he was carrying a knock and low on confidence, Moyes worked his magic and you could see his class in the latter games of the season.

I admit at times his passing is a bit wayward, but hes still young and if he was to come to Everton im sure Moyes would get the very best out of him.

Who mentioned his nationality? Would say the same thing about a scouser who doesn't go the game. As for your opinion of Manny i totally disagree with it but like bill your both entitled to it

Now the point has been raised of the difference betwee actually being at the game compared to the comfort of your own home with Sky plus, replays and even commentary.

Obviously you dont have the atmosphere of a game but is the arm chair fan better informed than Joe I go to the ground bloggs?

With as many cameras at the matches now and with technology where it is regarding replays, you don't miss anything at home other than the occasional argy bargy that happens between two players while the camera has moved on to follow the action.

And even then, they get that on replay most of the time.

Persoanlly i live in Ireland and consider it lucky if i get over to about five games a year not as many as i would like!

So i watch the majority on TV. For me going to the match is better, you can see an awfull lot more movement of the ball and runs players make you dont necessarily do on the T.V.

I think watching on TV gives you a much better overall perspective of the game as a whole. (especially given that the views at GP aren't great!) But yeah nothing can beat the atmosphere of actually being there.

However, if you're sat near the front I think you also appreciate the pace and skill of the players a lot more than you see on TV. At the final home game of the 06/07 season v Pompey I was right down the front and the skills of Arteta and Fernandes blew me away really. Am not talking about their occasional show boating but just their control and little flicks in normal passages of play were immense. I don't think you really get that from watching on TV.

I personally go the games myself but i dont claim to be any better than any fellow Evertonian that watches at home. In many ways, it is far better watching on tv. Ok, you do not get the same atmosphere as you would do in the stadium itself but at home, it is a hell of a lot more comfortable and dare i say it, a lot cheaper to. No travelling back, no freezing your nuts off in the winter and no 6 foot 7 inch bleeder standing in your way restricting your view in an already heavily restricted Goodison Park. I could go to every home and away game all season, but someone who goes to zero may well be far more knowledgeable than me about the club. It is incredibly expensive to attend games nowadays as prices continue to rocket, so being an armchair fan is in the long run, the most sensible option.

i h8 watching the game on telly, especially with andy 'i talk complete and utter bollocks' Gray is talking complete n utter bollocks - also get too distracted, in the pub i find myself talking to ppl with just one eye on the game, at home i usually fall asleep on the couch

i love going to the match. i miss goodison and i go whenever i can to the k league games to get a feel for the whole experience. leaving home with the scarf, getting on the bus and seeing another supporter in the same colours, giving a knowing nod. getting off the bus and walking to the ground where all the streets have been taken over by the fans.

having a couple of beers outside the ground with my mates (korean beer is [Poor language removed] though) buying the fog horn for a fiver (now tradition) and getting into the ground and watching it fill up.

i stand behind the goal and i will say honestly when i watch a replay of the game on tv there is loads of stuff i missed. sometimes it looks like a different game!

for analysing a game the tv is far superior, but for having a cool day out... it beats watching it in the pub.

the problam is. The camera only follows the ball. You don't really get to see the work players put in off the ball. I think it's much better at the game it'self. But as said it can be like two different games sometimes.

Well that is true but most of the matches I see, the camera angle captures quite a bit of the pitch.

You won't see everything but you do get a lot.
