I don't blame him one bit. The absolute rabble we've got in the backroom the Frankenstein-esque mishmash of players, of which only about four actually want to play for the club and the toxic support. Who would want that?

Don't blame him either; in fact I applaud his loyalty to Derby.

Probably feels he has started a job there and given them hope and knows that if he goes, that's it for Derby.

He knows what being manager at Everton would be like for him... impossible.
The level of expectation sky high, the demands from fans sky high but not enough experience or success under his belt to weather a series of poor results.

I thought he might get, I thought he would take it but I think he may be well advised for his sake.... and possibly ours.

Let's see if he can develop his potential as a manager because the Everton opportunity will come again if he does well, even if it takes ten years.

He's also being very sensible - can you imagine how his CV would look if he couldn't turn things around and the worst happens! It would be Rooney took Everton down, not Rafael!

Better to return when club in a much healthier state, and with more experience. As well as showing loyalty to current club.

We are a dangerous party, a manager graveyard next to a players graveyard. And thats allright if it wasnt close to being in relegation danger, but even the relegation clubs are doing good business while the aimed rivals like Villa are investing money and bringing players we can only dream about.

He has a very high risk of being relegated with Derby. I'm not sure this is furthering his career tbh.

He probably feels it’s a mixture of bad timing and having a job to finish with Derby. Quite a show of integrity mixed with his boyhood club not having the pull to bring him in which is a bit sad.

Rooney has gone up in my estimation. Dead right not to touch it with a 50’pole. Anyway, he’ll be given the job to get us promoted next season.

Rooney is the right man for Everton. He has the good sense to avoid the debacle that is Kenwright etc.
