I think so. You have to step back a moment and see how we are in the market. Conservative at best within two weeks. No trip to the US for a new signing is in the card near term. But if Moyes gets what he wants he'll be a happy man just like we will be.

I wouldnt say johnson was not a first team player, he featured quite abit last season scoring 10 goals.

It does raise questions to me as to how many young lads will be pushed on this season. The likes of Baxter and Lukas have shown potential in pre-season. Lukas has over 40 professional appearances under his belt so I would think if he's going to make it he'll make it this season. Baxter could also progress, he's had a pretty good pre-season.

Now I'm not saying either is ideal, but lets face it, we're not privvy to the information Moyes has. We have no idea who he's trying to sign and how far along those signatures are. We have no idea which young players he sees contributing to the first team squad this season.

We do this every season. Other teams buy earlier than us and we start to panic, calling him dithering Dave etc. History would seem to suggest however that his dithering tends to mean us getting players that want to play for the club rather than the pay cheque, whilst other clubs frequently get players that don't work out.

So sure we may not be in the position we'd all like right now, but Moyes has rarely let us down so I'm quite happy to have a little faith in him.

I do think he'll pick the right players, of course, i just think we've left it a tad late, where as not long ago we were looking for Carsleys replacement we are now looking for Johnson's aswell and clubs will know we need a forward therefore prices can increase.
