United did'nt score bucket loads that day and they went on to win the League whereas Spurs lost out on a place in Europe by just one point. Quite simply, if Wallbeck's dive at Wembley against us last week had have occured at Old Trafford, then that penalty would have been awarded.

Totally agree mate. You was quite right by saying what about the other 4 goals. Spurs fell apart and although the penalty may have been a massive turning point in the match, Tottenham still should have defended or improved on what they had.

United have had several dicey penalties, free kicks etc particularly at Old Trafford over the years and the latest one they got was never a pen. Its just a shame more referee's dont admit to falling under the pressue of the Old Trafford/Manchester United influence.

The following is an analysis of all premiership and champions league games played by Manchester United and Liverpool this season.

Liverpool are sure that united has bought the league by bribing the FA. Lets see if the facts support those accusations.


Manchester United

Games Played : 32

Number of Penalties given to United* : 4 League / 0 Champions League
1. ------ Premier League -------------
2. Ronaldo (pen) 57 - Man Utd 5-2 Tottenham
3. Ronaldo (pen) 23 - Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool
4. Ronaldo (pen) 44 - Man Utd 1-0 Everton
5. Ronaldo (pen) 60 - Man Utd 2-0 Bolton


In games we won with the exception of Everton, United won every game they were awarded a penalty against by at least 1 additional goal.

Number of Penalties given against against United* : 3 League / 0 Champions League
1. ------ Premier League -------------
2. Murphy (pen) 18 - Fulham 2-0 United
3. Gerrard (pen) 44 - Man Utd 1-4 Liverpool
4. Geovanni (pen) 82 - Man Utd 4-3 Hull


With the exception of Hull which united won by 1 goal, every penalty given against United resulted in the team losing the match.

No Penalties awarded against against United in the Champions League

Number of United Players Sent Off : 5
1. ------ Premier League -------------
2. Scholes 18 min - Fulham 2-0 United
3. Rooney 89 min - Fulham 2-0 United
4. Vidic 76 min - United 1-4 Liverpool
5. Vidic 90 min - Liverpool 2-1 United

With the exception of Man City, United lost every game in which a player was sent off.

While not so significant in the league, penalties awarded to liverpool came in very handy in tight games against Marseille and Atletico Madrid. It almost gave them the edge over Chelsea as well.

That's right. Zero! Only Lucas has been sent off this season for Liverpool, and that was against Everton in the FA cup. 0 players sent off in the league and the champions League. Now, lets see how many players have been sent off when playing against Liverpool.

My mates got a season ticket at Hull and was fuming at the descisions when they played Liverpool

Mascheranos blatent dive leads to a free kick for Liverpool and a goal just on half time against the run of play. This completely changed the game when Hull were the better team FACT


Corner leading to a goal (second I think) ball not in the corner dee therefore illegal FACT


Blatant hand ball leading to Liverpools third goal FACT


Now then why did the media not pick up on this ?

Evening Grand old team

I am used to it mate too much ( ABU Brigade etc etc)

Its just that the media are doing my ******** head in willing Liverpool to win the title

I went the game on Sat we had loads of chances. First half spurs had two chances and scored two

We clapped the players off at half time and got behind them Second half

Credit is to the players not Howard Webb they were awesome and destroyed Spurs

Then you read the papers on Sunday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Question

If that was Liverpool coming from 2 0 down what would be the media response if the same thing transpired ?
 
Exactly my thought and I said the same at the time and when reading the write ups.

If Liverpool had come from 2-0 down and won, it would have no doubt been a spirited emphatic victory, demonstating champion credentials....

Baffled with the emphasis on the penalty decision. I can see why it was given, 9/10 that penalty is given. The goal gave a lift, but the media would have you believe the penalty equated to 5 goals. No recognition to the players...

I'm glad you posted that Neville, i knew they'd been a lot of players sent off against them this season but didn't realise it was that many.

Staggering, gotta be some kind of record.
 
Did anybody notice how many times Ladyboy Ronaldo went down last night and how many FKs he got, was lovely to see a Ref ignore the diving little pansy.

However I was at the match last night he got kicked to *****
 

Messi and Kaka get kicked everywhere, a lot more than the nancy boy. But you hardly ever see them whine like little girls. Thankfully this season has shown him for what he is, a 1 trick pony.
