They're all on RAWK saying 'atleast we challenged it for it this year.'

Seven points behind United who have a game in hand in february.

Haha. If it wasn't for the fact they beat united ages ago and united buggered off for the world club cup they never would of had a sniff.

Now normal service is resumed.

Parry back in haha.

Never a truer word spoken. They are second rate...oh no, wait, Chelsea just leapfrogged them...make that third rate. :P

And Villa go 1 point behind them if they win their game in hand as well.

I gaurantee they will go and bloody well beat United at Old Trafford just as the faint cries of "we can still win it" have finally died out.

Then they come screaming back until they draw at home 3 games in a row!

7 points adrift and played a game more than United = game over.

Let's just sit back now and hopefully watch the eggs placed in the CL basket get smashed into pulp.

Rafael Must Stay!

My biggest fear is that Rafael doesn't sign and they get a real manager like Murnhino. He would run away from the pack with those players (which style wise aren't any different from Chelsea's league winners). Rafael leaving would be almost as depressing as Moyes leaving.

With regards to Rafael, I think despite his obvious clownish tenancies, at least he gives the club stability. If he went, Liverpool would be faced with much difficulty in attracting a top name given their now limited budget in the transfer market. At the moment, it is very hard for them to compete with the best. As the American saga goes on, the gap will widen. I don't think they will have the resources to compete, regardless of their manager. They may as well stick with the fat bloke in my view. My prediction is if they lose him, and the Americans remain in charge, they will end up with assorted faces coming and going. At least that is the case in the world according Nebbiolo.

They're in limbo Liverpool. Until the ownership of that club is sorted out Benitez is in an impregnable position. And if they are taken over by new owners this summer/autumn, I doubt in the short term they'd sack the Rafatolla. It's all good. (y)

Liverpool never "challenged" for the title this year. The same as every other year so far.

But let their deluded supporters believe that the actually have a good team and a good manager.:lol:

I'm surprised at just how poor they are at the moment. No doubt there will be some serious soul-searching done in the summer. I expect next season for them to be more of a force.
they are there for the taking we should be able to catch them(y)

Problem is Roy, since 6th will no doubt be enough for the Europa thingy, finishing 5th doesn't really get us much further. I still think, particularly given the loss of Arteta, that Villa have too much of a start on us for to have a realistic chance of the final CL spot.

I suppose 5th would give us an extra £500k and a bit of pride, though.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Aston Villa v Stoke 1500 GMT
Bolton 0-0 Newcastle 1300 GMT
HT Hull 0-2 Blackburn 1230 GMT
HT West Ham 0-0 Man City 1230 GMT

Going well for Blackburn at the moment. Also good for us with West Ham and City being goalless (with them, along with Wigan, being our nearest rivals to sixth).

Think Blackburn will be a tough game for us.
