At school in Hampshire, the Biology dept had a sort of illuminated insect trap placed in a water meadow near the college buildings. In the summer you wouldn't believe the stuff we'd discover in there the next day.

I remember a moth the size of a man's hand. And a five inch stag beetle. I didn't know they could fly!

It was the sixties mind.
