Welcome Charlie Adam

….not seeing anything particularly innovative, indeed we’ve been dreadfully lacking since McNeil got injured. I wonder if the scope of his work includes defending set-plays, Jagielka says Moyes worked on that every session in his first spell and we rarely conceded from a corner.

Hard to really judge him when you're left with fannies like Harrison and Lindstrom taking set pieces. I'd give him next season, then part ways if we have better players and we still aren't improving in terms of offensive set plays.

I would imagine possibly would be at both ends but more focus on attacking free kick. If we have a delivery specialist in the squad, there’s only so much they’d be able to influence the delivery, but I would expect to see more creativity and variety in how we set our attacking free kicks up, and I’m not see a lot of that.

I don’t think Moyes will keep him hanging around like Dyche would have, even if he is a willing runner.

Footballing brain of a gnat.

Yep, there's no chance he's staying. Moyes laid down the gauntlet to Harrison and Lindstrom 3 games ago and we've had the sum total of one deflected goal from Harrison. I don't see that record improving at all.

In fact, he could score 10 goals from now until the end of the season and I wouldn't sign him. He's arguably one of the worst players I've ever seen play for Everton with decision making simply non existent.

When Leeds fans all laughed and said he was just a 1 in 8 player, wow what we would give to see him have just 1 quality game every 8.

I can't imagine they're asking Harrison to float the ball up in the air for ten seconds, he's just unable to get any whip on a cross.

I don't think they're asking Jack Harrison to do anything tbh. The crosses are more out of hope anything. We've got Tarkowski, Branthwaite and O'Brien to aim at but there's barely any movement from any of them (probably because they know it'll either hit the first man or be so long it goes out for a throw in)

Looked to me like on Wednesday it was a case of "right Jack, Garners been absolutely crap at them so we'll give you a go tonight and hope for thr best".

We really lack good delivery from dead ball situations. It'll be better once McNeill comes back but we need to sign a right footer with decent delivery as well. Set pieces are a vital part of the modern game, Arsenal would be about 12th without them.

Mental isn't it. I don't even like Mcneils as it's a slow, lofted ball to the back post, but at least it's in an area a player has a chance to attack it.

I find it inexcusable to be so bad at set pieces and only being able to rely on one player to have some form of ability to stick in a half decent cross.

It's symptomatic of the general lack of ability to pass a football in our current squad. I would say we are the worst in the division.

Yep, unfortunately there's a couple of players who really aren't very good at football and everything just breaks down.

I think Branthwaites comments after the Derby was him basically saying there's certain players who are simply crap at keeping the ball and making the wrong decisions when they get the chance to make the right one

Yes it really gets exposed when we play a high energy team like the rs and Villa. If we have time and space we can just about find a man, but under pressure our passing is dreadful.
