Were not Everton anymore

I assume this is light hearted 'banter' but it does sound very similar to the utterly defeatist 'Everton That' complex, which is underpinned by a 100% maladaptive belief that Everton are not just destined for eternal failure but are also defined by it as well. A defence mechanism that makes disappointment easier for some people to deal with.

Wolves were in League One just a few years ago, and they're having absolutely no problem dealing with their very real progression. They were full of confidence and talking about winning the Europa League last season, and are looking at similar levels of success this season, CL qualification etc.

So maybe they won't achieve their ambition, but I'd rather have their confident attitude and be left disappointed, than an attitude that involves having an identity crisis and pinching yourself in disbelief just because we are experiencing a bit of positivity. We aren't Chesterfield.

Baby steps into giant leaps please.

It looks like the arrival of Ancelotti has finally woken everyone up into realising that baby steps get you absolutely nowhere.

Wolves are already prioritising their ambitions after losing last night to Stoke.

I hope they fail miserably and return to where they have come from, but I doubt being knocked out of the league cup will leave them too traumatised. Their ambitions will still be centred on qualifying for Europe once again, and I don't think it will lead to them having an identity crisis.
