Nearly 20 years ago with 61 points. I don't think you can make a like for like comparison given the amount of money that has poured into the league since. Completely different players playing against completely different teams. The disparity in spending power seemed ridiculous back then but it's something else now where the vast majority of the league are spending much more than us.

Not to say the 'Dyche' way of getting to lower mid-table safety is the only way. There's scope for more attractive football certainly but massively better results and league standings - not sure there is with the current squad.

I didn’t expect us to play any better. If we had it would have been a surprise (like the Brighton away 1-5). We are not a very good team, neither are West Ham. We play better with NcNeil at run-around-a-lot 10 than Doucoure’s defensive 10. I don’t think Dom can play other than as a lone striker so we are stuck with that it seems.We have Pickford to thank for the point obviously, which is still a point away from home. It’s the not getting any points from Soton away that makes this unpalatable.
Lopetegui appears to have ruined a reasonable Moyes team just like Dyche is ruining our players.

Not a fan of Dyche,but this shower are bottom 4 Premier standard players. Whoever was manager you can't polish a Richard.

The thing that baffles me ,I don't accept our players are all rubbish ,take Keane he has been hounded on here and yet the first few games he was possibly our best performer, how is that all other teams out play us in the skill department ? Even Iliman is diappearing up his own rear end lately . Sean believes that if we don't cocede we cannot lose -which is obvious -why can't he see that if we score more than them it is better and the fans will love it .

I think we would have all been happy with the point here if we would have got 3 away at Southampton. It always seems to be the Everton way. Wouldn’t shock me if Everton are the only team the Saints beat this season in the league. That would have been 4 points from two games. Instead it’s 1 from 2 of the easier games of the season. Up next, Brentford, doing better. Let’s see how many injuries we get over the international break.

agree southampton was the bad one other than that doing ok
hoping get garner back at RB and BROJA is a direct type of forward so hoping him and Ndiaye will click and give us more going forward againt the better teams we face soon
