Isn't it fortunate for us that all the teams that we've beaten this season were having inexplicable off days at the time :dodgy:. The same goes for the rs. Both times we've played them they were below par. Very strange :cool:lol.

A near perfect performance, I don't buy the fact WH were terrible, I believe we'd have matched most teams with that attacking intent.

Everton played very well, but we really should have taken more of those chances. We had 17 shots with nine on target! West Ham's only resistance came from Fabianski - they really were awful.

Anyway, the the team has certainly come together recently. That's two clean sheets in a row. Arsenal come next, with a heavy fixture list in April. I think we are now in a good position to test Arsenal and then go on to finish the season strongly.

Certainly think the last 6 games have trickiness but also winnable looks to them. United game doesn't look as hard as it did a month ago and comes around champions league time. Tottenham last day could be anything depending on their season. We should win at Fulham and beat Burnley. Its frustrating that if we don't get 7th and Europe and it will be a near miss. Newcastle took 4 points off us this season somehow

Garth Crooks' Team of the Week Kurt Zouma:

What was that all about? Manuel Pellegrini said it was a bad day at the office? I'll say. West Ham were shocking. I've criticised Everton for their poor defending this season but I found myself applauding their clean sheet at London Stadium on Saturday.

The Hammers could have been two goals down after 20 minutes and were lucky it wasn't more. Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma is starting to look like a defender who can be trusted.

Did you know? Zouma has won 68% of his aerial duels in the Premier League this season, the highest percentage of any Everton centre-back.

Back in the 80s a Merseyside band called China Crisis released an album called Flaunt the Imperfection...cracking album it was too. Walter Becker not only produced the album, but he featured prominently on it (keyboards)
...great musician, sadly missed.
I did not know that about Walter Becker and his connection with China Crisis, I will have to give it a listen. Grown up listening to Steely Dan, very sadly missed Walter.

garth crooks is a tool, he picks 11 players based on who scored

shearer named both gueye and Bernard in his team of the week, I'd say that's more accurate

zouma had absolutely nothing to do all game west ham where that bad

More trivia: Steely Dan and the Eagles shared the same manager and enjoyed a warm relationship. On Steely Dan'sr album The Royal Scam, a song mentions the Eagles by name. So the Eagles returned the acknowledgement on their next album ...Hotel California. There's a line in the album's titular song: 'they stick it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast' ...the steely being a nod to Steely Dan.

And @WalterBecker
This discussion, whilst interesting, is way off topic for a match thread - take it elsewhere please.

yes, soz mate...the peripateticism of my thoughts often 'wander off the reservation'. I shall earnestly endeavour to fetter such propensity.

PS: I thought Gana just edged out Bernard for my MotM. It was Everton's most entertainingly engaging performance of the season imo...more of that please Marco!
