I really enjoyed that yesterday. Credit to Martinez for making those changes at half time, they transformed us. No messing about. Baines' free kicks were excellent, the second one was sublime.

Jelavic wasn't his best today, and although Lukaku did well when he came on, I still think we should stick with Jelavic, he just needs one goal and then he'll be off. He's just not getting the right service, give him some through balls and watch him go on a scoring run again he's had his confidence shattered by Moyes telling him to run the channels and not getting in the box.

Mental lad. Surely Lukaku has to play as much as possible now?

Not saying we shoud bin off Jelavic just yet but why wait, after waiting so long, for him to be boss again when there's someone who can do as much in 45 minutes than he can in 45 games ready and waiting?

First Half was awful, we never got going until the second. Once Jelavic and Naismith were subbed we looked a bigger threat going forward. Lukaku had that impression about him. I thought Oviedo played well when he came on, he'll be a great player if given enough game time. Barry and McCarthy both done their jobs well. Baines was amazing, to score two free kicks in both corners was like he was takin the pee out of Jaaskelainen, World class.

Great second half performance but there is still room for improvement. We are getting there and we are unbeaten! Second half performance of good quality and hard work. Well done Everton!

This to a tee mate!.

We are still a work in progress but were plugging along nicely, starting to get wins whilst we adjust to a new way of playing, very good signs IMO!.

Lukaku really did make the difference yesterday, thought it whilst at the game and certainly think after watching highlights!. He seemed to bring out the best in a number of players, mainly the likes of Mirallas, Barkley and Baines. All three seemed to have a spring in there step when he came on and all 3 linked very well with Lukaku.

He had the strength and power to hold up the ball and either bring others into play or turn and beat a man and make things happen for us in the final third. Players knew they could play it into him and it would stick and he'd give a good pass back and we'd build dangerously from there!.

He could come short and hold the ball up and pick out good options, or he was a threat in behind due to his pace, for me, he seems to have the lot and he's going to change alot about our attacks definitely, we just looked a different animal with him upfront, more potent and dangerous and long may that continue!.

Liked the look of McCarthy in midfield too, we seemed more composed and solid in there with him and Barry linking up. Do think we'll get even better when Gibbo is fully fit and in the side though as with him and Barry, we'll have 2 very composed players in CM!. Barry sits deep and is very assured on the ball and with Gibson in the side, he can spot a good forward pass early and play it and with the likes of Barkley, Lukaku & Mirallas further forward, we will hit teams quicker when attacking and i can see us doing some damage in games this season IF we keep all our main players fit for long periods of the season!.

There's alot to be positive about Everton this season and were still a team in transition, a team in progress!.

And btw, Bainesy's 2 strikes yesterday alone makes him worth £20m!. The lad as everything and Moyesy fcuking knows it and to insult us, but mainly Baines, with a silly £12m bid this summer is scandulous!.

...it was great in the boozer with the deludeds in their replica shirts watching 7 screens and us around 2. One lad had his mobile and shouted we scored a couple of minutes before the live stream caught up. They were wondering what all the fuss was about then bang, bang we were 3-2 up. Never seen a pub empty so quick, they couldn't get out of there quick enough. Love those moments.

Thought Oviedo was pretty good when he came on. Made a lot of room for Baines down the left. McCarthy sped us up in the middle, also had a good day, penalty aside.
My main gripe is that we just dont seem to wake up properly at all untill the second half, Chelsea aside. Could be a personel thing but it seems to happen whoever we have on the pitch.

Agree with all of this! 2 other things I loved about yesterdays game........

Have a look who was also in there jumping for the header when Lukaku scored, none other than Seamus! Also 3-2 ahead and on at least 2 occasions after that we went forward getting 3 or 4 runners into their box! Good to see!

....noticed exactly the same thing, must always be worth a £ for 1st scorer at big odds young Coleman.
