We have an 80's-ish radio station on in the office in work and this song comes on every now and then. I'm all for the camp, overblown stuff in the 80's but this, in particular the last minute or so, is absolutely horrendous.
I proper cant condone a song which uses the lyrics "hip hop hoorayaye" and then rhymes it with "yippee yi yippee yi yay yay". Truly awful songwriting and is well within a shout for the worst song of the 80's.
And the twin guitars in this one from 1966! Stunning!
Said to be Harrison & McCartney, but I'm inclined to think it's McCartney double tracked. You just don't get two completely different guitar styles meshing so perfectly. Around that time, Harrison's playing was exemplified by 'Act naturally', whereas McCartney's was perfectly shown on 'Taxman' (yes folks, all the lead guitar work on that track is McCartney).
