The album was called 'S F Sorrow'. It was a rock opera, but the Who beat them to it with regard to issue to the public, so S F Sorrow got nothing like the publicity of 'Tommy'. It is an excellent album, however.

The only song I can think of with with bells/sirens at the start is 'Fire Brigade' by The Move.

Well, that's annoying ; just been through the album on the YouTube and can't find the bugger. I could have sworn it was on the album ; only two options left - go through all my LP's for a trigger reaction, or let senility take its course and hope I forget all about it in the next couple of hours. I think we both know the answer. lol
