The rain, it raineth every day
New album from Nicolas Godin, one half of Air. Some of it is a bit "ho hum" but I'm groovin' on this 'un:
Epic bit of disco from Space (no, not that one.)
New DMA's single The Glow is great. Saw them debut it at Brixton Academy in March but it's got a really poppy sound to it.
Anyone who hasn't but is into guitar music, get on the lads btw. Aussie three-piece (Tommy the frontman is an Evertonian) but they're a six-piece live and sound massive.
Been a fan since the early days but their third album is due out in July (was meant to be next week, but had to be pushed back due to COVID) and so far all of the singles are great. Really look to be hitting a peak and I'm chuffed for them. They kept getting compared to Roses/Oasis and while they're definitely inspired by those bands (though I think Cast and The La's have a bigger influence) they've defined their own sound now I think.
Just hope the big gigs they have planned this year (Castlefield Bowl and Ally Pally) can go ahead but even if not they'll still smash it. Brixton felt like a defining moment for them and they're all dead good lads too. Just proper have it and Tommy – whenever he can be arsed to do interviews – is dead funny too.
