I think Rivers Cuomo has taken over Billie Joe Armstrong as the best vocal line writer in rock music in my book. The man is an absolute genius.

Loved the early stuff as well.Saw them live then as well,brilliant. Never have liked the latter records but fair play to them for introducing that style of reggae to a lot of people.

First three albums are brilliant, OK UB44 isn't quite as good as the first two (and the dub version of Present Arms), but Labour of Love onwards is pretty much cod reggae arse. They don't get their due though. They were huge, but they seem to have been somewhat forgotten about or seen as a joke.

Going through highly rated albums from 2000-2010 which I'd not previously paid much attention to, focusing on one year at a time. This is going to take me some time. Planning to do another decade afterwards, from 1990-2000.

Last night it was the Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem, the highs are fantastic, though a few tracks didn't grab me and passed me by without leaving any impression. Definitely an album I'll return to in the future.

Currently spinning White Pony by Deftones. Oh yes. Only started listening to them from Diamond Eyes onwards, will absolutely be returning to this album and some of their earlier stuff now.

I’m not a fan, but my brother is a massive fan.

He convinced me to go to a gig at the Royal Court.

Incredible atmosphere, like a massive Ganga fuelled party from start to finish lol
