Pity he went mad and became a Druid lol

An intellectual druid if you don't mind ! lol
in his post-TE career he's known for writing on the then-obscure German 70's Cosmic Rock scene, colloquially known as Krautrock, and introduced that to a generation of Brits who'd otherwise might never have discovered it, especially before www-era.

He also writes about the antique world, and incorporates its themes in his solo music.

Interesting post-band career. His Druid phase gets a pass from me.

Finally got round to listening to this. Absolutely love the video - fantastic! Song didn't grab me but not really my type of music. Maybe a grower.
Aye, the video deffo elevates the song. In the 90's i used to go karaokes & quiz nights in northern small-town/village pubs...that video really reminds me of that. Not sure if that culture is still around.

The Wheeltappers and Shunters Club was a popular variety show in the seventies. The video is like a British version of Weezer's Buddy Holly video using Happy Days. The song isn't as good as Weezer's though.

Vitalogy is their finest work, by far. Has a real unique atmosphere to it, good mix of songs, some healthy weird too.

This might be the highlight:

Not normally keen on either Gallagher, but stumbled on this and enjoyed the musik & video:

Loved and love 'ten'.
in a seperate sentence have "liam gallagher 48 hours at rockfield" on 'sky arts' - this wally cant speak without "dya know wha I mean" thrown in.
if he had a brain he'd be dangerous. it annoys me someone so thick can be such a success, i understand theres a simon cowell type playing vito corleone but still. is this what getting older is, more and more is graded style over substance? twas ever thus.

Off to see them live in a week or 2

oh geil! this year already doing Goa Gil and Magma so don't think i can fit in Neubauten too. They're in Berlin in a week or so, there's only a handful tickets left.

you'll have a great time, Neubauten fans are a fun talkative lot lol

mini-anecdote: i knew Blixa's ex-housemaid, got into an argument with him over pay, then pocketed cash she saw lying around as her due pay. i told her to put it right back and ask for her due the normal way, so she went back and put the cash back where she found it, then got paid normally, then left the job...Blixa was none the wiser.

Liam i suppose has that c'mon then vibe that can be a bit magnetic...was never into Oasis myself but had mates who loved 'em. Mansun were the best 90's britrock band for my taste.

Virology is an effin amazing album!!!

Also Noel is smashing it with some of his new stuff! Pisses all over Liam. Liam's new stuff is utter utter Shiite. It's indescribable how bad it is. His high pitched winey voice is unbearable to listen to. I change stations on the radio when his songs come on. God only knows how these clown oasis fans still think his new stuff is any good.. it's time to admit that he's passed it. He really makes me angry.. ??
Vitalogy has some great songs (Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Better Man, Immortality) - but it's all over the place and there is some absolute dross on there

The problem with Pearl Jam is that they've become a patchy album band - All of their albums since Vitalogy have wonderful stuff on them though

No Code (Hail, Hail, Who You Are, Off He Goes)
Yield (Given To Fly, MFC, In Hiding)
Binaural (Light Years, Nothing As It Seems, Insignificance)
Riot Act (Love Boat Captain, I Am Mine, Thumbing My Way)
Pearl Jam (Life Wasted, World Wide Suicide)
Backspacer (Got Some, The Fixer, Just Breathe)
Lightning Bolt (Sirens, Lightning Bolt, Future Days (a.k.a The Last of Us song)
Gigaton (Who Ever Said, Superblood Wolfmoon, Dance of the Clairvoyants)

For anybody that jumped off the boat after Vs, i'd highly recommend giving either Yield or Backspacer a try
