Came out in 1988 but this EP (Up Home) is still one of the most innovative records of the last 40 years. Was so far ahead of its time back then. These dudes never get the credit they deserve, perhaps because they didn't make a lot of records, perhaps because they're black, but well as influential as MBV, Cocteau Twins, JAMC etc.



Fun fact: these guys were behind M/A/R/R/S Pump Up The Volume as well.

Just over 30 years since this record topped the UK charts for 4 weeks. Probably the most controversial number 1 of all time in this country. How they got away with such a record which promoted Ecstasy use from start to finish use was beyond me, they even got to perform it on Top of the Pops! I remember their denials at the time only for Mr C to admit years later it was all about Ecstasy, but everyone knew it at the time anyway. I still love this very very naughty record!
