First three albums are peerless, Jason lost the plot after that though and spent 20 years making the same record over and over again with ever diminishing returns.

The last couple have been a bit of a renaissance though, in all fairness, and I went to see them last year for the first time in ages, and they were great.

I used to play in a band with Mark Refoy from the latter-day Spacemen 3 and early Spiritualized line up, so should declare some bias.

Spacemen 3 were better.

I've not really listen to any albums before Ladies and Gentleman... So I might get them a go, but I never really got into that album. I think it was just a bit too much, but I know I'm probably in the minority there.

I really like a lot of Spaceman 3, which is why it semi annoys me that Spiritualised don't do much for me

You've missed the best stuff, then. I like Lazer Guided Melodies and Pure Phase both more than Ladies & Gemtlemen. Pure Phase is awesome - there's an entirely separate mix in each channel.

Most of Let it Come Dowm through to Sweet Heart, Sweet Light I can do without, give or take the odd song here and there.
 
Live watered down version of their first single from a recent BBC6 live performance. If you want to catch the whole set today is the last day it's being aired.
