@LEONARD very cool . Particularly like John Lewis's piano playing , he often pops up on the recodings of some of my favorite artists.
In fact when I'm ploughing through record shops and come across an album I've not heard of I look at who the sidemen are and if the likes of Lewis , Connie Kay or Percy Heath are playing you know that the music is going to be impeccable.
Jazz has to be the broadest ever church. I absolutely love Miles Davis but only up to 1964 , similar with Coletrane.
If say Dave Holland or DeJohnte is playing bass then it's one for me to avoid as it's likely to be avant garde .
