If you can listen to the Crusaders in their first iteration, the Jazz Crusaders. I love Randi Crawford but they sounded fantastic.Given how much noise there is around the price of vinyl it's great if you like a lot of that late 70s funk sound. A lot of it doesn't seem to have inflated in price the way some singers/acts have.
Crusaders, The Commodores ( early on before Lionel Richie's syrupy stuff became dominant) and a lot of Norman Whitfield style stuff is almost bargain bin but the quality of musicianship is exceptional.
I'll add it to the list. Going through some Bobby Womack LPs at the moment - Communication, Home Is Where The Heart Is, Safety Zone, Facts Of Life & Understanding. If you can listen to the Crusaders in their first iteration, the Jazz Crusaders. I love Randi Crawford but they sounded fantastic.
Like a cross between The Smiths and Sleeper.Never heard of them before, but I really like that.
Really moody.
It’s not often I instantly take to a band, but I really do like them.
Have a listen to these. A new band out of Chicago with very little released. One for any Smiths fans.Peripheral Vision is just brilliant to me... really really good... (again on Bandcamp!)
