Not sure I agree with your definition of pop C. Not to my ears anyhow. For me it's more a combination of genres but mostly electro dance/club. As for perfect, I don't think I've ever seen an album receive so many favorable comments as this from the music press, with most calling it groundbreaking and generational. I'm not knowledgeable enough on the genre to comment really but I respect the opinions of people who know a lot more about the subject than me. I've been sort of following this Fantano guy on YouTube for around 12 months now and I've never seen him hand out a 10 before.

As regards the album, I've listened to it twice now and for some reason I really want to like it. But it's not really for me. That's not a rebuttal by the way, it just isn't to my taste. There were a few tracks I quite enjoyed but there aren't many albums I would play front to back on a regular basis and I just found some of it a bit repetitive. I'm sure you'd probably feel exactly the same about some of my favourite albums from Joy Division and early New Order and Cure.

I'm happy for her that it's been received well and has been commercially successful too and I do enjoy the energy she brings to her live performances.

I think album is very targeted at people 30-40, and people who were clubbing in the late '00 as a lot of the sounds and references are from then - the time she was singing in the same clubs/warehouses at the time too. A lot of the reviewers are probably that age too, so also remembering that time fondly (just before social media took off/you can do/dress how you want in clubs knowing very little photos will be taken, in real life alternative culture still existed), and about having to 'grow up' and how life has changed

So I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of older people don't 'get it' as much, which doesn't really matter - people can like whatever they want

And I love all three of those bands! well not New Order as much, for no real reason I just know the other two better

Hat's off to whoever is styling her. Statue of Liberty emerging from a big apple at a New York festival is pure genius. Its like something out of Hunger Games 😀
