Yeah. Never heard of them but gave them a listen as I did all of the top 10 I didn't know. Thought they were decent but I do quite like female fronted punk. Didn't hit me the same as Mannequin P#ssy though. They've always been contrarian elitists - The Friko album is the best thing on that 'rock' list, and the actual best rock album of the year (Dulling the Horns by Wild Pink) isn't anywhere near it
I listened to about 4 songs off the album. They were OK. Musically decent and bass lead. Singers voice grated though but the lyrics were quite amusing in a Kate Nash sort of way.I've never heard of number 6 until now, but if they are anything like Life Without Buildings then I'll be happy

The albums been out about 10 months and they also released an EP last year too. But they only have around 100 subscribers on YouTube and not many more on Spotify. And whilst I accept this is no barometer of quality, if their music was connecting with listeners even word of mouth would generate significant more interest. Very weird selection for end of year best album list. 90% of that list is weird though.
I think they fit the DIY label C but the thing is they do list on those streaming platforms, and once out there you would expect better numbers. They've actually just released another album which is pretty much the same as the last one..there are a lot more DIY bands/artists these days that purposefully don't go on streaming platforms other than bandcamp, and play in independent venues. i guess they're one of the bigger and better bands out of these. their label is also probably done in a bedroom
