I've seen so many top albums of the year lists and videos recently I thought I'd do my own. I'll count down my top 10 leading up to Christmas with my favourite track from each.

At number 10 is watch it ache and bleed by Nieve Ella. It's actually only an EP so shouldn't really be on the list but it's so good I didn't want to leave it out.

I absolutely love this new duo from California, so much so that I was one of 65 people worldwide waiting for the MV premiere of their first single. What a saddo.

Anyway keep a look out for them in 2025. She just has something about her and 80s pop is on the way back.

Don't worry C. They'll all be too busy enjoying themselves to notice you.

Been meaning to ask.i think you said the Charli gig was the best night of your life. Do you think that may be due to it being a mainly young female audience, and the different vibe/atmosphere they bring.

Good q, but I think the answer is no there. I've been to a lot of gigs recently where there is absolutely no queue at the bar and everyone is young and very boring. It was particularly weird this time seeing Slowdive for that reason, who are big on Tiktok now. I've seen them a few times now and other times (older people) were taking stuff watching them and this time younger people were fully sober.

Charli xcx's audience was loads more people my age. Brat has got younger people into her but a decent amount of fans are from the same circles are me (30's, into techno/electro from the clubs in the 00's). There queues at the bar, people around me were wearing stuff from that era and people werent recording on their phones (they were in some places obv) and it just felt like we were both back in that period, which was easily some of the best years of our lives. Also I guess Brat brings out drinking more than a Slowdive album so who knows

OK. That wasn't the answer I was expecting. 😀

You probably guessed why I asked the question. I'm seeing a lot of SM comments from older people at TLDP concerts that the atmosphere and audience connection surpasses anything they've witnessed in 40/50 years of gigging. And I'm not talking 1 or 2, it's dozens, maybe over a hundred. It must be the younger audience creating this. I'm sure most of those older guys wouldn't have witnessed this before . I know I've never. Maybe Charli would be a bad example. From what I've read alcohol is not a big factor at TLDP gigs, amongst neither young or old.
