What are you currently listening to?

Well I enjoy Post Hardcore and delve into Hardcore occasionally so the vocals aren't an issue if they're heavy. Not really a 'metal' fan though which I've seen them tagged as. Will give Colours a go anyway.

They have my backing too. One of the only metal acts I still listen to; they're absolutely immense.

Oh and album of the year:

Not even arsed.

I've really enjoyed this. I need to give it a few more listens though before making a proper judgement.

I'm liking this one a lot at the moment, it's seriously good, and I think it's right up your street RFUS.

I love the vocals in this. Dare I say it, but they remind me slightly of The Beatles (the vocals).

BLF, Its bizarre you posted Tame Impala as I stumbled upon them an hour ago, came to post a video in this thread you'd already done it. Psychedelic and some seriously good bass-lines in the songs I've heard so far.

I'm looking back today...the first great album of the 90's. Holds up incredibly well. The Sunday are about the same age as I am, and the lyrical themes of this record revolve around student life and being in your late teen's and early 20's which is exactly where I was when this came out. The Sundays were capable of channeling The Smiths and The Cocteau Twins in the same song...David Gavruin is easily one of the most overlooked guitarist of his generation. While not being original (he borrowed heavily from the two bands I just mentioned), he was incredibly adept at taking the essence of dreamy, jangle guitar, and when combined with Harriet Wheeler's wonderful poetry and her sweet, naive but powerful voice, it was pure magic. Still is.

Ha, that is weird. Great minds and all that?

I'm seriously enjoying it so far. I've only given it about 3 or 4 full listens but it's wonderful, definitely one of my favourite albums of the year so far.

I love the distortion and like you said the bass lines are superb. Some of the songs in particular have a great feel to them and the one I posted especially really perks me up, a real feel good song.

Loving it lad.

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards is a top tune, love the bass in that. The rest are growing on me a bit more slowly, definitely an album best listened to through headphones.

Check out the new Titus Andronicus mate think you'll enjoy it.

Having listened to the new Titus Andronicus I have to say I'm a fan.

In many ways it's a bit removed from both The Monitor and The Airing of Grievances (no quotations read out this time at least), but it's still very enjoyable.

Dare I say it's a tad more accessible than their previous efforts.
