i know it's controversial and obviously i would rather sell none and don't think we have to sell any. but if you offer me selling mccarthy to be able to buy a player like lukaku, i'd bite your hand off.

mccarthy fits us perfectly, but i think he's that sort of high energy player that you could possibly replace easily with the right scouting and could be done cheaply? you look at someone like diame available at £3.5m and you can surely get a very good mccarthy replacement for £7m ish, lukaku is a one-off, he's utterly phenomenal with enormous potential.

If we have enough money to buy Lukaku without selling ( and that's a big if ) then I'll celebrate, otherwise we need to look elsewhere for someone whose talent is, at the moment, not as well recognised. I've no idea who that is, but I'm sure Martinez's team will have people identified.
