Some magazine had told them what they want. It's what women's magazines are for.
And to avoid accusations of sexism - its why hifi magazines work for men too.
I think we failed on that front quite a while ago my friend...

We gave her the same thing …. Oh wellAIDS
I may have given the impression of sexism by vocalising annoyance too often, mainly of a certain radio programme ... actually pretty much the entire bbc these days, but let me assure you I tend to dislike people of both (all?) genders pretty much equally.I think we failed on that front quite a while ago my friend...
When she offered you a pie at Christmas?Mrs C doesn’t trust me to buy her a Christmas gift so I get texts with the stuff she wants for Christmas. I usually get her a surprise gift on top of the stuff she asks for and that is grand. She gets what she wants and I get to pretend I am a little bit spontaneous, everyone is happy, everyone respects the rules of the game. That is until this year, I have listened to her and picked up on a gift I have heard her say she wants, only thing is her best friend also heard her and she bought her the same thing but delivered it early. I have to tell her that I was going to get her that, now I lose control, she gets to pick her surprise, which by the way costs three times the price, so now I will get abuse for not being spontaneous. This means that next year I will have to get the presents she tells me she wants plus the surprise she knows about and then the surprise she doesn’t know about. When did life become so complicated?
