What has been your lowest point supporting Everton?

Probably already mentioned but the 1980 Semi Final replay against West Ham was a tough one to take.
Watched it on Sportsnight without knowing the score. Didn't understand how we could get taken apart by a second division side (Devonshire had a blinder), then the winning goal somehow crawling into the bottom corner at a funereal pace. In those days the cup was a bigger deal...

Allardyce becoming our manager is right up there too.

1977 Semi Final, Bryan Hamilton being denied the winner by Clive Thomas - so proud of the boys that day.

Selling Rooney was a big low for me. Stopped renewing my season ticket the season after that.

Last season under Benitez was pretty grim as well though. I just stopped caring and actually thought it would have been better off if we got relegated as I was sick of the same old same old.

I was struggling around the Rooney season, was honestly about to give up my Season Ticket, but he made me renew, then we sold him, took me many years to pay off the debt for that ticket, THANKS WAYNE.

He did, but it was Flo who was stalling on the deal too and the fee would be increased- he was due on a 'free' a few months later, so not great foresight there. Good player Flo, but what was the plan? Him and Ferguson up front? Urgh, no thanks.
Still though Big Joe remains the last Everton manager to win something. We had one full season under Big Joe and it was a very good one to be fair.

It was a good one and he deserves great credit for that and the turnaround in 1995- and he gets that credit. But the reason he didn’t have another full season was because he bailed when our results were in freefall during that season…almost “Rafael-esque“ in terms of points gained during his last 3 months in fact. His subsequent career in management (and indeed before that with Oldham) proved he was at his best trying to keep teams in the top tier or get them promoted.
