What is up with Dele Alli?

This entire scenario is incredibly strange.

Also incredibly strange by the club to have a huge name in football training with the club, without pay, for months, without any type of comms on the situation
Because he barely costs us anything and it's good PR for the club

He's never going to play for us. We are helping him over his mental health issues.

Clearly, lessons were learnt after Tony Hibbert said that he was so offended by the club's conduct in letting his contract expire, he almost didn't come back to use the gym for free.

Almost.

Not really. You have no idea what’s gone on behind the scenes, I can only assume a bit of friendship amongst some mates has helped whatever he has been through, and once it comes out I can bet you the least we can have done - we did.

What clarity do you need? He's using the club's facilities to train while he tries to regain fitness, there is nominally the possibility of a contract being offered to him if they decide it's worthwhile after he's done that. What else is there to know?
Is he still training with us? Did we rehab his injury? Has he played in a behind closed doors game for us the club? Is it likely he will get a contract offer?

We've been updated on all of those things within the last month or so. It's a bit of a non story anyway I would say, they've tried to help him recover and give him a carrot to work towards. If it works out we benefit from it and if it doesn't then it's cost us nothing. In the crazy world of Everton this really doesn't register as an issue in the slightest.

No we haven’t

Dyche answered questions on the 24th of October which said he was training with us and was a bit behind where we'd hoped because of a setback so was only just 'back on the grass'. It seems fair to assume on that basis that he hasn't played in a behind closed doors game, but they can't really update you that he hasn't done something yet can they, and the same with the contract - personally I doubt he is going to get one now but they're hardly going to say that in a press conference are they? So yes, we have.

Mate, it takes 5mins to research. dele is a very very rich lad, his property business absolutely dwarf his footy income.

He’s doing it for a reason that only he and the club know.
