Muggins

Player Valuation: £60m
Okay I’ll give it a shot. Here’s a thread…

What makes other teams tick?

I’m looking for examples.

Here’s one. The lad who scored 2 own goals in a game for Leicester, I read he’s been quite useful in Leicester’s moving up the table after they were well down and out early on. Rogers was making public comments about funds, but him and the owner sorted things out, they signed him in September.

That’s a new a centre back and a big turnaround.

We’ve signed loads of players, yet at the time of writing this right now, we are 2nd from bottom of the league. Barring a miracle we will get relegated for sure this year.

So what’s everyone else’s magic??

Either they don't fear relegation after spending years in the wilderness (Brighton, Brentford, Wolves) or they're invincible to the drop (RS, City, Man U). Right now Everton is the club with the biggest fear factor and this reflects on the terraces, which seeps onto the pitch.

We've been seven decades in the top-flight, and are about to lose that last shred of credibility. There is such a financial black hole, that even a Leeds-esque amount of time out of the PL - as opposed to outright extinction, or some Rangers style rebirth - would be a result for some.

Personally I'd take liquidation over playing anything lower than second tier footy.

Interesting point this, we're the only none yoyo club who fears going down, if anyone else goes down ots something they have dealt with before, but for us it's unthinkable and very scary.

They get more motivation, the players do, from a lot of angles too, ours don't seem too care
Far too slow the build up for one attack takes five minutes, we had two efforts at the keeper last night from Gray -
Motivation is hard when some of our players can't run, we must be the slowest team in the prem .....

Does literally everyone we sign have no desire to win though?

So how many do you need with that effort in a team to succeed. Is it numbers?

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said earlier this year: "One very famous football club said to me two or three days ago "whenever we have a problem we say 'what would the Everton board do because they always get it right?'""
