1, 6, 7...

The stadium - lax as this sounds like, is neither here nor there for me really - if we move ace, if we stay and redevelop, brilliant. Either way there has to be a sense of realism attached, namely I don't want a new build a la CITY that, as dandy as it is, the first thing you tend to notice is the unfilled seats.

A commitment to spending would be fantastic, but this holds hands with revenue increase which, frankly, is something the club has always been pretty awful at. We need to become a force because we're just not ATM and the AMERICAN market could be VERY lucrative for us indeed with connections already in place. I'm confident that, marketing wise, they pretty well have their finger on the pulse like. Avenues for sponsorship and the like will be opened I'm sure...

Board wise, clean sweep, has to be. I'm happy to let the new people make their own mistakes, any made with a current member still in situ will give rise to a bout of '...see, we're STILL getting it wrong, I blame that tw@t'. Which is hugely different to '...ok, they're learning, give it time'.

The current squad is the best we've had assembled for YEARS, I know that's stuttered out often, but it just is. And the recent (I think) TELEGRAPH interview with ROM was kinda positive in that he's looking forward to 'next year' etc. Build on this and I'm happy. Trick is to become a club where players want to stay, where they can fulfill their ambitions without having to do so elsewhere. And I genuinely think with new ownership ahoy then that'll give most an inkling to stay and be part of something...

Which brings me to the 'values' aspect of the club...we all know the history, we know what we are, and we know what NOT to become. And I'm SURE the AMERICANS have been well versed in this already, and I genuinely reckon it'll appeal to them too, the 'family & fabric' feel, all that. It's important not to get cocky and not to assume that we're gonna hit trophy time within 12 months or so. (we're probably not) It's still a build, and we've got to grow with that too whilst maintaining all that is good about the club and being a fan of it. Yeah, we moan (I do more than me fair share of that) but we do...deffo...we need to embrace this if it happens, and we need to make THEM feel welcome too I think, like they're joining something exclusive...

And they are, because like I said, we're NOT 'them'...

I genuinely hope they get that.

So exciting times, onward eh blues, all that...

**BOSS thread BTW, interesting stuff...

A commitment to a redeveloped Goodison, commitment to increase sponsorship and commercial activities and adhering to the values of Everton Football Club and what it means to us days are the most important aspects for me.

IF Goodison 100% can't be redeveloped then I want a plan outlined for a new build and Moores and Noell to bulldoze down the Echo Arena and pop our new stadium right there thank you please.

The stadium and better commercial and sponsorship revenues should take care of on the field matters such as player recruitment.

I'm hoping they leave football matters to those that understand football but the business side of things is where they really push us on and market us better than the 2 bob bill and ben's whose job it currently is to bring in such revenue.

With the likelihood of a takeover of Everton increasing I thought it would be interesting to see what would make a takeover a success for you individually and collectively?

Please answer the poll and explain in a post your answers.

Thank you.

Number one, definitely.

Try and keep this squad (or as much of it as possible) together for next season (in the short term).

Let Martinez continue to do what he is doing as I do believe we are really beginning to see a system implemented right the way through the academy (not just by Martinez, obviously) that will mean we are producing players to fit a system - thus leading to the sustainability of a quality first-team squad without having to smash transfer records etc.

That's from a footballing perspective.

I'd also love for them to look into potential avenues for redeveloping Goodison somewhat. The Bullens is the main one. That stand could quite easily be transformed and modernised, and hospitality added.

I voted for number one.
Looks like good times are ahead. Hardly I could choose the better time to move to the paradise land.... Sorry... To Liverpool.
P.S. Great thread!

Just for those who voted for: "A strong commitment from our new owners to maintaining Everton's values"

Bill made a promise he'd do the same, and told us he'd sell up as soon as there was a buyer. You can state all the commitments you like - it's delivering on them that counts.
I think He certainly maintained our values. Whether or not he sold the club at any point (or didn't for that matter) has nothing to do with values.

This is so important, especially considering that player prices are only going up, regardless of actual worth.

If we can produce players that can perform and compete in the PL we'll be miles ahead of the remaining clubs when the bubble finally pops.

I hope our future board members can keep this in mind.

Chose 1, 3, 4.

1. We have huge squad potential and have had a few years of (some) stability for players to learn their roles and to develop some chemistry. In modern football, that isn't always an option, and during a takeover, chemistry is usually the first thing interrupted by the influx of spending.

3. As an American, I have no right to expound some false sense of nostalgia about Goodison, but what I continually read from fans here and what I hear from pundits and announcers on TV, is that Goodison is one a few remaining old school stadium designs, where the fans are so loud that you fear for your safety. I'd hate to see that given up for some posh modern library atmosphere.

4. Our commercial and sponsor revenue is a joke. Admittedly it is small compared to the TV deals that exist now, but there is no excuse for operating with the deals we have in place. The additional revenue could be used to freeze or lower ticket prices, even with a redevelopment.

1,2 & 4,......We must secure this squad and have a seamless transition of management, completely review our commercial operations and produce a plan for a new Stadium or an updated GP. Additionally I would like to see Bill retained on the board. He knows the mistakes that have been made and he does love the club. He will be invaluable to any new owners......

In that case, kindly define what Everton's values are then, please.
I'm referencing values from a principles and standards aspect. The idea of who the club are in a non-football specific sense. Everton in the Community, The George Shaw Goal of the Month Award, Alder Hey trips, the good-willed nature of our supporters etc.

This is not a blanket supporting statement for BK, but maybe, just maybe his unwillingness to sell previously was because whomever was interested did not show the intent to continue or uphold Everton's values/standards in that regard.

Priorities 1, 3 and 7

The other points are important as well, but that will hopefully come with time (within 3 years). Guess that point 4 and 6 will be a lot easier to achieve with point 1 taken care of.

So, keep the squad together while adding more quality, go all out for a redeveloped Goodison (please save me that heartbreak) and look after our values at any time.

I heard recently that the PL clubs voted on keeping ticket prices to £20 for away fans. Everton were the only club to vote in favour.

The £99 season ticket, EITC and lots of other things have happened.under Bill.

I've been a harsh critic of his handling of sales and his undoubted arrogance at times. But many of the values I love have been upheld.
