When do you think you'll be able to retire from paid work?

Won't know what to do with myself when I am retired, so lucky that I prob won't be able to fully retire when I get to that age.

oddly an old lady said that to me in Cork recently. She was buying a top in a very trendy and expensive store - looked to be in her eighties - made me think!

A lot depends on what, apart from the cash, you get from work.

If it's enjoyable, fulfilling or you just like the people, then there's something to be said for continuing, but maybe try going part-time ?

But if you're continuing to work out of habit, don't really need the money and are just in a rut with it, then bear in mind another old saying "The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth"

... and yes, I am a cheerful bugger !

Opened a lifetime isa last week as part of the phased retirement plan. Hopefully i can max this out for the next 14 years. Have my civil service pension plan that will be my main pot and a small pension from another previous job. The will be to take the lifetime isa first, then go partial retirement in work for a few years then leave the small pension for as long as possible.

Also opened a junior isa for the little one hoping i can convince her to keep that for a very early retirement for herself.
