when we’ve gone down

I imagine that I will go through all the various stages of grief.

None of us under the age of 80 have ever known Everton FC as a lower league club.

It simply can't be allowed to happen.

We as fans must be the proverbial 12th man and we must win on Sunday.

what will you do?

(a) jump of a bridge/ a cliff/ nearest thing with height

(b) turn into an alchy

(c) ask to be punted to space

(d) cry into your blanket with teddy

(e) what’s football?

i am torn between a and d
Think it's football not life and death and make myself a nice barbecue. I've followed Everton since the 60's but when you grow up you feel differently about life. The ups and downs of a football club matter far less to you than missing friends and family that are no longer with us. I'd advise people to get some perspective.

what happens if you haven’t got any friends or family or a barbeque ?

I'll just go back to the pub and wait for the traffic to die down...and wait to see how it all shakes down in June / July...all the beds will be dried out by then.

But it won't come to that.

We've got this, stop yer fussing.

That's what I mean by taking some perspective! Relegation is surely the time to start thinking.....' have I been a bit of a tit investing all my time and energy on something which I have no control over?
there no worse than the ones who come on here preaching , effects different people in different ways

You’re right of course, however for us older fans, it’s always been a source of of pride that we’ve never seen relegation. It will be particularly sad for someone like me who’s took the piss out of mates who supported Leeds, City, Bolton when they’ve been relegated.

Get REALLY angry and sad for a few hours, drink an unhealthy amount of alcohol, post a dozen or more ranting essays on here and then move on with my life. Nothing would change for me if we went down. I'd still be there every home game and as many aways as possible. As devastating as it would feel initially, we'd all just move on.

After watching the Wolves game then the Leeds and Leicester games the feeling of nausea and anxiety has taken over from what used to be enjoyable
we have all seen big clubs fall but i'm pretty sure they never had the resources we have had this is self inflicted
I think Everton will win Sunday but this season has pushed most fans way beyond the limit

i want everton to stay up nothing else in life
Mate, why pin your happiness on something you have no control over ?
Everton will still be Everton even in the championship, it’s not like being a Prem club has been a barrel of laughs has it.

Plus, we have the best chance of all 3 clubs of staying up.
