It will be an idea which will be costly in the short term. But in the long term for a lot of reasons it will be massively beneficial.

Look at the top 6 positions in the league table. It's a joke how much power these clubs have and that the rules are being changed more and more to keep it that way and people are just oblivious to it.

To be exacerbated by a 40% increase in CL money from 2024/25.

I would imagine the Saudi’s/NUFC will target CL football by then, to gain that huge income source and stay within FFP/Sustainability rules.
 

If we go down , I fear that will be the end of us as a top flight team for a number of years. Squad is weak, we have a naive manager at best, we lost our major funding so can't buy our way back into the PL, an absent owner who has shown constantly he has no clue and worse of all, an apathetic fans split in all directions
 
We go down we could easily do a Leeds or Sunderland and sink down the leagues only advantage we will have is selling some of our assets even then we won't get as much for them in the Championship. We should have been investing in hungry players from the Championship look at Palace team that thrashed us last week.
 
I didnt vote as my opinion isnt on the list.

Its not a blip, it wont get worse before it gets better and were not going to fall into oblivion.

We simply need to get to the end of the season safe. Then its going to be a rebuild where we take the Palace/Vieira approach and bring in a handful of young dynamic, high potential players.

Next season will be the first step and it will probably take 2 or 3 more summers before we see a new squad pushing for top 6.

Id be happy finishing mid table for 2 seasons if the focus was on developing youth into a progressive attacking style.
 
I think we are done for. I dont think we stay up this season, and then where do we go? The same squad of spinless sh*thouses who have got us to this point. We wont be able to sign anyone, nobody wants are sh*t either. Grim times ahead

My issue is would are fanbase be happy with 2 mid table finishes….

after years of mismanagement we need to learn to walk before we run . we aren’t challenging for Europe for a while IF we are lucky enough to stay up.
