I think its because he is not played as an out an out striker. Can't be prolific from the wing, can't be prolific when you don't get a run in the side.

Ironically Benitez's desire to buy more players than Barry Fry has wrecked a good chance to challenge for the title.

Benithez is barmy. Voronin for instance. Signed as a striker, yet every time I've seen him he's been on the wing. Why buy a player and then play him out of position? You may as well just buy a winger in the first place.

I think he peaked a few years ago when he and Lampard were 2nd and 3rd in the World Player awards. When you look at the likes of Fabregas and Ronaldo now they have overtaken him in ability. He still has a good engine and can score the odd good goal but he's no longer the player he was.

Well I think he was wrong to get rid of Beckham when he did. Man U didn't win much when he left. But he has done a good job now.
