Who could replace Martinez ?

One of the issues of considering an early change is that everyone with a true feeling for Everton yearns for the kind of footie we saw last season, the resurgence of School of Science curriculum. Now we're in danger of sinking into the area of the game that demands or commands a grittier, tougher, less stylish approach, we may have to accept a level of compromise that we actually don't want to return to.

I'm beginning to think that some of the root causes of our strange and Titanic like demise this season is the methods of the coaching staff and not necessarily the footballing philosophy of Martinez. I honestly don't have serious suggestions as to who exactly should or needs to go, but something needs to happen fairly quickly to turn things around as the upcoming fixture list does not look too healthy in our current state.

We need someone who knows the city and the club and gets the passion around the place. To fight for the shirt, to kiss the badge and engage the fans.

We need someone who's a proven winner and will tackle every ball.

We need someone who can inspire the players through being a great himself.

Get on the phone to King Kenny.
our defence went to pot the minute Hansen left MOTD, we used his fantastic incite every week. :)

Get joe Royle back till the end of the season (like the RS did with dalglish). The place would be bouncing, the man knows everton inside out and the players would have to roll up their sleeves and fight for the shirt as a basic. Something that is clearly lacking at the moment.

Scolari and De Boer would be fantastic targets but my worry is kenwright would go for a mclaren/Laudrup type.

Redknapp would be the most realistic and best option IMO. Think Spurs have lived off their reputation based on how he had them playing. They have never been the same since he left.

How about just replacing the defensive coach (whoever that is).

We have gone to pot since Stubbs left.

I'd also consider asking Irvine back.

Don't like to knee jerk and hope things improve - but the lack of fight and passion is alarming me - even in the dark days of smith the players fought for the cause, thy just weren't good enough.
But on the topic - Eddie Howe? Great football, great job he's doing.
