If I judge the clubs as a whole then Arsenal everyday of teh week, It does bug me a bit football is judged on the here and now because Chelsea have been better than Arsenal only recently last 20 odd years of 140 odd years. When did a clubs history stop mattering, oh yeah 1992.
You won’t find many Chelsea fans in full possession of all faculties who consider Chelsea to be the ‘bigger club’. Tedious comparison anyway. However, if we’re consistently still doing better than them and winning more stuff for the next 50 years then I’ll stick my head over the parapet and say we’re the more successful club. Unlikely though as I’ll be 100.
As a kid growing up in the U.S. during the years between the NASL and MLS, I knew who Arsenal was. Never heard of Chelsea.
Says it all, really. The Washington Nationals could rattle off four titles in the next decade, and it would not make them a big club on the level of the Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals or Dodgers.
