Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Lol who cares this team will be relegated by the end of the year

Sold off Richy and no replacement. Incredible lack of talent from the field to the boardroom.

Idk maybe Usmanov will go broke at some point bc he is the dumbest billionaire I've ever seen. Most of those Russians are, they just essentially inherited that money. It's not a meritocracy. Not saying that doesn't happen all over, but in Russia, middle east oligarchs the leadership is inclined to fill power with stupid, unambitious ppl.

It doesn't matter as long as that inbred fool from Uzbekistan or whatever is running the team.

Won't do any good short term even if that were possible.
We need something short term now other wise we won't stay in the league.

There is nothing to be gained keeping lampard on as manager, need to try something else and get in someone with experience

I've got bad news bud.

This team is going down. They made terrible decisions in the off season...

Sweet Gueye is back 3 yr older? Who tf is making these decisions, I'd say an accountant could do a better job but apparently that is just clearly wrong.

The players are absolute garbage. It doesn't matter who they bring in.

Every coach they've brought in under Usmanov has essentially been garbage, I was not impressed with what Ancelloti actually did.

If every coaching hire sucks, most signings suck, and you sell your only legit PL starting players...

Why would I believe any of the people they hired over there has a clue?

I root for them, I'll follow from afar.

But I'm not watching any of their games. They're [Poor language removed] awful.

You don’t follow us, you said you were switching to being a Liverpool fan. No one said you can come back.

Of course he was. That's why there's was a massive knee-jerk reaction to what he said. It was a bullseye hit.

Just on today's game: that turns into a 2-1 loss rather than a 1-1 draw pretty much on the basis of the crowd's reaction to a patient build up.
Sadly you’re spot on.

As you say, people reacted angrily when Ben Foster confirmed that opposition players enjoy playing at Goodison because of the negativity of our fans, but he was absolutely correct.

Went to Goodison today for the first time in ages and was astonished by how abysmal the atmosphere was.

I’m starting to believe what the former Watford goalie Ben Foster said about us Everton fans the other month: that we are a gift to the opposition.

Maybe he has a point.

I imagine that constantly abusing and barracking your own players can’t really help.
It doesn’t help, no. Quite the opposite.

When we actually got behind the players in certain games towards the end of last season we beat the likes of Chelsea and we ultimately stayed up.

We as fans should stop helping the opposition.

Patient build is keeping the ball in their half trying to find a way in....not pass it between the centre backs for 3 minutes.

The reason why that happened is because they and Lampard ran out of ideas. Go long? Or play between the lines? Why is there a line of 4 attackers and no movement? Iwobi was dropping deep for the ball...but where else is he gonna play it?

Simple answer was to put Doucs and Onana up front and punt the ball in.

Sorry but the fans of the club are not to blame for anything other than for turning out in huge numbers home and away despite watching rubbish for so many years now. This is loyalty and passion beyond the understanding and capabilities of most other fans who 'follow' our PL rivals. No other fan group comes close imo. If we start blaming the fans we are truly stuffed.

This is where you're analysis breaks down. We dont have 1 striker never mind 4 to make great movement to get a pass into. That's why we're where we are.

That proves my point that it was without a plan to know how to attack a team sitting deep or even throw the kitchen sink.

You had Gray, Gordon, Cannon in a line. Patterson and Myko high up. The CB pass the ball to each other for 2 minutes before launching it out wide to Patterson...then we don't win a 2nd ball and half the team jog back while Wolves plough 5 players forward and score.

You had Doucs and Onana both 6ft nowhere near the box. Onana sitting deep. Push them into the box as target men, let Iwobi and Gordon sit in midfield. Let your wingbacks put crosses in. Win the knock downs and apply pressure.

Did zero of that. It was clueless.

But if he was happy for a draw...play that way.

I think that's EXACTLY what they should have done once we hadn't taken decent chances in a match we could and should have won.

They should have turned and played back to the GK - that would have been safer and maybe allowed the low block of Wolves to uncoil ts grip on our attacking players once Pickford launched it one more time.

The crowd intervened and we know the rest of the story...

If anyone chose Martinez I’d like to ask their rationale for doing so. This is a man that was in charge of the greatest squad of Belgian talent there has ever been at the peak of their powers and didn’t get close to winning a single thing. What is he going to do with our bunch of wastrels?

Again why are they listening to the crowd if they had a plan? Because they didn't have a plan apart from get it wide...which they couldn't because wolves sat deep.

Players take responsibility on the pitch not the crowd. Which is generally why most of the fans kick off because they see players that aren't.

Passing aimlessly around the back and allowing them to counter is exactly why we lost

If we had been aggressive and showed some urgency we would have pressed Wolves back but we were gutless in possession and no one wanted to take responsibility.

It is very easy to play against a team who are passing sideways with no purpose. You sit and wait on the mistake and then counter at will. Our gameplan was beyond pathetic and unacceptable at Everton.

I remember Jose said the same against that Martinez side. Let them pass it and have the ball. They won't do anything with it.

Funny thing is...we did pin United back at home and we're more aggressive that they had to defend well to get out with a win. But he lobbed on Dom and Rondon
