Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Fair enough. How attractive are Villa tho? I think they were about 17th when they were negotiating with Emery.
A fair point for sure.

I would imagine Villa arent a million miles away from where we are cash wise.

They spent heavily in the Summer, that must surely affect them going forward.

But Emerys last club wasnt really footballing elite, I think Poch and Tuchell are probably a club away from us.

But Emery is a previous PSG manager just like Poch. He has since managed the non-elite Villarreal and now Aston Villa.

Poch ain’t attracting City or Barca any time soon. If he wants a high PL wage, he needs to be considering the likes of Everton.

Everton pay some of the best wages in the world, it’s a well coveted job

Its a very well paid job, hence the likes of Vitor are willing to pimp themselves to Sky Sports.

I just think Poch and Tuchel are probably waiting for something a bit more attractive.

Wages wouldnt be the issue, the issue would be how much money we could give them to spend and the downside of relegation.

So if either are motivated by money, then we have every chance, but if they dont want to dilute their brand and remain an elite club manager, then I dont see them at Everton. Timing will be important with our next manager and I have no idea what Tuchel and Poch are thinking or if they will even be available at the point we move on from Frank.

So its a no for now, but console yourself with the fact that I laughed at any suggestion that Carlo would rock up here.

We must have some to spend or those pinning their Lampard dream on this transfer window are going to be very disappointed, that is all he has left to cling to.
Im clinging on to the hope that he can improve results.

The key to that for me is getting Dom fit and healthy.

By the time the window opens we will have played 3 games, if you assume we wont sign anybody 1st Jan, which is likely. We then play United on the 7th, so thats 4 games before we will realistically have a new player in.

So if people are pinning their hopes on a transfer window, good luck to them.

Some blues like to aim high, thats fine.

But we are a vastly different club to the 1 who hired Carlo. Rumour has it that he went and spoke to Usmanov on his boat, who wouldnt fail to be impressed by that?
If Carlo was “impressed” at the sight of a fat Russian is Speedos then I have to wonder what he gets up to in his spare time.

Poch would not look twice at us, and if he did purely for the money, that’s a red flag in itself.

Aye, be shocked if anything came of it. Whenever have we bought well when we needed to push on? The other year we needed a forward for Ancelotti to try and push europe and signed Josh King on a free FFS.

edit: loan for the last 6 months of his contract, not a free

Who says we are skint? It’s funny when Premier League football clubs are described as ‘skint’ when they continue to spend money like its going out of fashion.

We are already paying Fronk about 120k a week, making him one of the highest paid managers in the world, so Poch’s wages won’t be a problem.

As for a transfer budget, well, if Poch wants a super club with a massive budget that is also capable of matching his wages, I suspect he will be waiting a very long time. He’s not Alex Ferguson, he was managing Southampton just a few years ago.

I agree we have money to spend, I was replying to the poster that claims we couldn`t attract a new manager due to having no money...

I think we have or havent got money due to whichever narrative someone wants to push...

Did you miss the bit this summer where we could only buy players from clubs who would let us put a tenner down then pay the rest on the drip?
