Problem with that is that he bombed miserably with his last “firefighting” job at West Brom, and I mean proper stank the place out. TBF, he’s even older than Bielsa so to be expected really.This would reek of Watford last year getting old Hodgson out of retirement and ended up with him being the worst manager in their history.

You're not wrong there. Doesn't have to be Allardyce but I don't think Dyche would take a caretaker position (the other option of a "keep us up" manager). Just need someone short term that is going to save us this season before we can look at a manager who can actually start to build something at the club over a few transfer windows. It doesn't need to be pretty - but we need to stay up.

Dyche is fine. The rest, no thanks. He's unglamorous but he's the most likely to kick on if a miracle happens and we survive. Plus he has championship experience.
