Who should replace Frank Lampard?

Can't see anyone with genuine ambition wanting join us at this moment, with hardly no time to sign anyone and us clearly headed for relegation

Not exactly a good start for a new manager

I lowkey think it'll be Corberan. I feel like if Thelwell is going to be presenting the options to the board he'll come across well - follows a similar tactical identity to Bielsa, younger with more potential for longevity, and building a vision. He's probably more likely to be accepting of our financial constraints than Bielsa, and is much less of a divisive option than the anti-relegation meathead managers. The major question is 'will he keep us up', but if the club are truly approaching this how Moshiri indicated in the FAB interview, they will want to make the right decision, not a rash short term solution. Before FL was officially sacked I said that Hansenhuttl and Carsley would be most likely, now, looking at the options on the table, I can see us trying to recreate the modern day Marco Silva
For a lot of the points youve noted, I would welcome this over the most common names circling. Although fairly inexperienced and raw Corberan is a progressive hire. Has tons of potential and pedigree and although young has paid dues at various levels managerially. The Bielsa line of managers is possibly more impressive than his own tactical prowess. And comes without the possible gasoline he does. Something with a board in complete disarray I'd almost guarantee going poorly.

Set up shop with a project and cut out the ever obsession with the fix all, personality driven hires. He wouldn't be in my top three picks but is a far more mature direction than the leading candidates and one I'd happily welcome.

Nothing in the Midlands press about Corberan being approached
Was the same last time when Lampard was appointed. Different factions seemingly briefing the media on targets. God knows what’s going on.

Pretty much done with it all at present. Shall watch with interest at what insanity unfolds.

What? £5m will break FFP? If we're that skint the board would never have taken the decision to sack Lampard.

The deal for Danjuma has fallen through so we won't be paying anything there – do you think that was not going to cost any money? Obviously there would have been a very substantial loan fee to pay Villareal and a signing fee to the player and his agent.

How much do you think we will pay for any manager we bring in ? They'll all want a long term contract.

This would be a £5m gamble to try to win £150m or whatever is the difference between money we'd earn in if we stay up compared to what we'd earn if we go down.
Why does everyone think we're skint? It's FFP rules, not lack of financies

Whoever is applying for this should be told they have to have a couple of players ready to bring in. We're right up against the clock here.
Basically everybody involved in this entire process had better be on the phone 24/7 working on deals while agents work on the contracts. Luckily there are no games before the deadline, but we could be screwed if there are any delays at all, no matter who it is. Troubling.

Whatever we do I hope it's a hire with a tactical foundation to build on long term. Dyche, Allardyce, and those types are the Sunderland path to eventual relegation even if it doesn't happen in the immediate.

Danjuma walking away means we'll struggle even more. Other players are going to notice that...which is why we need any new manager to have players who want to work with him ready to come in.
